Forgive me, I've loads of questions.
Going to treat myself with an expensive(to me) & probably my final bike purchase.
I'm at an age where I want comfort firstly and speed secondly. I probably want a comfortable bike I can ride fast when I feel like it.
So criteria is, decent tyre width, mounts for mudguards, under 10kg, 105 mechanical preferred
Material: steel, carbon, titanium. (Not aluminium, every bike I've owned was ali)
Bikes I've browsed include the Defy, Roubaix, Domane and..

Just been looking at renewing my Discovery+ sub to see / catch up with races Down Under etc.
Only two plans now available: Basic @ £3.99/month (includes v little) & Premium (includes everything) @ £30.99/month - ouch!
No Standard @ £6.99 / month
£6.99 was OK to see cycling & tennis (only two we're willing to pay for), but not £30+.
So, what are y'all doing out there? Is there an alternative?
I've looked at Eurosport, but just get directed to Discovery - as expected.
I've greatly..

Years ago l used to do a little bit of motorcycle touring and camping. Now despite me saying many times never again, l'm now looking at doing some cycle touring and camping again....l'll never learn!
But of course l now need to upgrade my tent and sleeping matt to smaller and lighter equipment.
The sleeping mat l've sorted now with a Big Agnes Rapide SL Regular Wide.
But as for the tent, l'm really struggling to fine one that ticks all of my boxes:-
1) Two man (l've got to have some..

Ok we have all seen cyclist jump the lights, but this guy in his late 50’s gave a real bad name to cyclists around my area in Surrey.
Sat as a passenger four cars back from this disgusting excuse of a cyclist. He jumped the lights and as he did a young lady waiting at the lights tapped her horn once, very quickly. The guy on the bike gave her the finger as he went through. The lights changed and he Rode dead centre to prevent the young lady from overtaking and started giving her the W-anchor..

Hi all, has anybody on this forum had solar panels fitted and are generating there own electricity. I am currently thinking about it, and am trying to look at the pros & cons.
At the moment i am paying £ 65 per month for gas and electric, so i am thinking of having solar panels installed to generate our electricity. Also i am thinking that we should be quids in, as we use so little power as there is only two of us.

We, well most of us, keep spare tyre patches on the bike or at least in the home toolkit.
Depending on the frequency of how often one gets punctures, said patches may sit unused for quite some time.
So how long does the 'stickiness' of these patches remain effective I wonder; months, years - ?

Bent the front mudguard on my commuter bike recently so just fitted a new one using the fixings from the old one which had already been bent around to suit the disc brake.
This was achieved using:

London's Burning actor John Alford dies in prisonSo I actually didn't know he was in prison, and nearly didn't post this because it for sexual assault but here we are...
John Alford is someone that is either a bit famous to a certain age of person, or you have never heard of him. He was in Grange Hill and graduated to London's Burning and was very popular in both. He actually had a singing career (the 1990s being of the 'lets make a soap star a singer' times) though it was only..

Hi guys,
I have a road bike and two mtb bikes. The reason for riding mtb bikes, is to get myself off the road as much as possible, especially during the winter months.
I also have a smart trainer that I absolutely love as it’s as near to real life cycling as you can get. I’m on the fence with going back on the road this year ( except charity rides) with the cars and abuse we often have to suffer, just for enjoying a morning out. Although they say cycling is declining, I’m thinking, maybe..
