A Watershed Moment? While in the process of selling the Sinner trike I spent some time browsing the bay of e and came across a later, aluminium version of my steel, disc braked EBC Revolution Country Explorer. My Country Explorer is like the Last of the Mohicans in my bike garage -the last diamond frame bike I still own. Up to now I've kept it for nostalgic reasons, dutifully pumping up the tyres and applying oil from time to time. It was probably the most comfortable "proper bike"...Read more

FLAB have decided to close their doors at the end of the season. An interesting decision given they were reportedly valued at £5m earlier this year.Given the brand got an absolute 'roasting' on Dragon's Den a few years ago, because the dragons didn't have a sense of humour, they seemed to have done well to keep going.I kept hovering over the 'buy' button on their shorts a couple of times, but never brought myself to do it and can't really put my finger on a reason why. Either way...Read more

Welcome (back) to the 21st Annual PTP Competition

This long-running competition has been a staple for BikeRadar forumites, and we want to bring it with us following the exodus of the sinking ship.We will restart the season from Milan-Sanremo with a blank scorecard for all.If you are new to this competition, you simply have to select the rider who you think will finish highly in a select group of WT and 1.Pro races. Points are accumulated over the season, and after the Lombardy the...Read more

A thread specially for 'persons of leisure' and independent means, or those with aspirations. How do you while away those lazy days? How do you cope financially? When did you retire? Is retirement what you expected? How long did you take to adjust?Etc.Tell us what you are up to today or what plans you have.Or just have a bit of silliness to while away those lazy hours.I've been busy today. Hilly 15 mile ride in North Devon, took dog for a stroll along Saunton Sands, cut the front lawn...Read more

Mine was so good. (I did go for that ride...glad i did)Just over 20 miles, but since the rear ends a bit sore...Suns been shining here all day, 13 or 14 degrees, 15 mph winds made it a bit slow on the outrun, but fast home (20 -25 mph for 6 miles ). Very very glad i went....now i feel guilty about feeling good How was yours....

We are off the France this summer, and for the first time in our ‘new’ car (2019 plate Peugeot 5008). It came with a detachable tow-bar fitted, so I am considering a tow bar carrier for the first time. Now the kids are older they have bigger bikes which means a combined weight of 4 bikes and carrier of 70.7kg. The nose weight I can find in the tow-bar paperwork states 72kg max. My question is, will this be fine in real world use? Another consideration is that the car is small petrol...Read more

Who's watching it? Is it too early to pick a winner? And the most important question, how long did Ali Carter spend in the spray tan booth?

As you might see elsewhere, a number of us are being made homeless from Bike Radar Cake Stop, and within that we had a group of us musing on photographical things - not themed, and not just about posting photos, but also discussing technique, composition, and other creative stuff. Bikes actually only rarely featured.Anyway, here's my creative one from today, dedicated to Mr CS Creative, masjer, whom I'm trying to tempt over to CC. FWIW, this was done on true HDR, and then reduced contrast...Read more

I keep getting woken-up in the early hours of the morning by cars with exhaust bypass valves. I'd like to put a one inch ball bearing through their windscreens with a catapult.
