An absolute must is changing the original profile picture – No One Likes To Add The Egg! It doesn’t matter what picture you use or how it looks as long as its not the stock egg.
This is a no brainier – Add a link to your website in the proper field of the profile section.
Be sure to add your location in the proper field in the profile section. There are a number of websites that let their users search for twitter users by location.
This one is real important – In the profile description field write as detailed a description as possible about your website and at the beginning of the description add your websites URL. It will show up as a clickable link.
Be human – show some emotion and thoughtfulness in your tweets.
Use plenty of hash tags. One I try to always use is the #RT tag.
Follow back – If someone follows you and you don’t have a problem with their profile, follow them back.
Tweet at least 5 tweets a day. And add pictures to your tweets if possible.
If you see a tweet posted by someone else that you like – ReTweet it.
Use the Twitter direct messages to connect to users on a more personal level.
Favorite as many tweets as possible.
Never follow more than 50 users per day. Following more than 50 users within a 24 hour period puts your account in jeopardy of being suspended. The same things goes for unfollowing users. It’s a good idea to unfollow users that don’t follow you back. Just don’t unfollow more than 50 per day.
